As the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia opens itself to the world, its contribution to Expo 2020 mirrors the nation’s grand ambitions. Boasting a vast façade that covers the area of two football pitches, the Saudi Arabia Pavilion takes the form of an opening window that soars into the sky bearing messages of inspiration.

Your Saudi experience begins in the open plaza under the pavilion, where the giant screen above and LEDs below combine to create a dazzling light show. Next, the “Heritage Path” escalator will transport you to immersive exhibits – and you can end your journey with refreshments and shopping in the pavilion’s scenic palm garden.

The monumental Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Pavilion is a mirrored slab that extends up diagonally from the ground, resembling a giant window opening toward the sky. The immense structure soars six storeys into the air and covers more than 13,000 square metres, or the area of two football pitches. The sides of the pavilion feature a decorative motif of grey horizontal lines like layered metal, while its vast underbelly — which shades an enormous plaza — is mirrored and smooth.

At Expo 2020, sustainability is an urgent, attainable reality, and Terra – The Sustainability Pavilion is the proof. Both immersive exhibition space and exemplar of environmental self-sufficiency, Terra is a pioneering piece of architecture that pushes the limits of renewable design.

The pavilion’s 130-metre-wide solar canopy – so vast that you could park 10 city buses head-to-tail atop it – converts sunshine into electricity for the exhibits below. Artfully funnelled natural light and local plant species, together with technologies that can reduce water consumption by 75 per cent, show the way to a sustainable future.

Sustainability is a crucial goal around the world today, but the people of Germany have lived by eco-friendly principles since the early 1700s. At Campus Germany, the country’s university-themed pavilion at Expo 2020, hundreds of hands-on educational experiences combine for an entertaining course in sustainability. Lectures and pop quizzes have no place on this campus, though. The pavilion’s lessons unfold on dynamic digital blackboards, inside giant selfie-friendly ball pits, and across “labs” that feature inventive explorations of our shared sustainable future. It’s all capped with a fun “graduation” ceremony in unique swinging seats.

The Germany Pavilion is a non-traditional structure consisting of several silver cubes stacked like blocks around an open central atrium. A massive shade structure, held up by a grid-like network of hundreds of thin pillars, hangs over the entirety of the main building. The pavilion and its landscaping have the open feeling of a modern university recreation hall area, surrounded by walkways, palm trees, and small gardens.

Danny Aridi is a multi award-winning singer and songwriter, who proudly started his career in the UAE. He has won a number of singing competitions and was recently awarded the Best Local Band/Act 2019 Award by WhatsOn Magazine. He has written, composed, and released 15 original songs and music videos and has opened up for internationally acclaimed artists such as: Katy Perry, P!NK, Bruno Mars, Calvin Harris, Guns n Roses, Fifth Harmony, Post Malone, and The Backstreet Boys. He has performed at some of the biggest venues in the region, including The Formula 1, Dubai Opera, du Arena, and the Media City Amphitheatre to name a few. His original song "Fool for You" hit the top of the charts as the most downloaded international track on Anghami upon release, while his song "Solo" reached number three on the iTunes charts in Egypt and Jordan. He has just released a new song “I’ll be here” which has already hit half a million views on YouTube.
