Organised by Dubai Culture, the "Dubai Festival for Youth Theatre" is a platform for local talents to compete and be recognised. The event returned this November with the highest number of participants in its history, including 14 national theatre groups from the UAE alone. Participants were judged by a committee established by Dubai Culture, which reviewed their performances based on 15 criteria, including script, performance, originality and creativity of content, direction and music.

The festival concludes on 25th November with an awards ceremony at Expo 2020 Dubai, comprising 16 prizes to celebrate various components of the theatre, including acting, directing, writing, designing, production, makeup and sound engineering, as well as specialists in visual and lighting shows and fashion design.

The Dubai Millennium Amphitheatre is a performance space hosting cultural performances and live music for seated crowds, located in Al Forsan Park. The venue’s design features a model of two Ghaf trees that intertwine above the centre of the stage.

From the streets of Bogotá and beyond, the entire world dances to the beats of Colombian music stars like Shakira and J Balvin. At the lively Colombia Pavilion, you’ll see — and most importantly, hear — how this infectious rhythm connects the nation to a thriving future of culture, innovation and urban growth.

The pavilion’s airy, free-ranging design represents Colombia itself, open and unbounded. In and around its four light-filled floors, an abundance of rhythmic attractions awaits: interactive instruments that let you play along with the music, a giant digital jukebox, holographic light shows and more.

The Colombia pavilion’s airy, playful design looks more like a three-dimensional checkerboard than a traditional building. The structure trades typical walls for a rectangular grid of colossal white metal beams and transparent panels and floors, which meet at varying levels to create a four-story tower of platforms, open air plazas, and spacious rooms that peek out in unexpected directions.

The Turkey Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai is looking ahead to a sustainable future. Here, you can embark on a mesmerising journey that captures the beauty, unique history, cultural richness and nature of this incredible nation. 

Starting from the zero point, discover all seven regions of Turkey through a unique digital world and learn more about what its future holds. Other attractions include a café offering delectable Turkish treats, workshops showcasing traditional handicrafts and historical art works and a plethora of live cultural performances.

Turkey: Sustainable Fashion Show 

Technology is considered a science of craft, it is a development of skills that are used to produce tangible and intangible goods and services. Heritage crafts are systems that are created to produce an outcome or series of products that identify a society, preserving its culture. Some Emirati crafts include Talli and Safeefah weaving, which resulted into products used in multifunctional manners. This session will focus on the future of urban design, textiles, fashion, and architecture.

Irthi Contemporary Crafts Council, together with art and technology experts, developed a physical and virtual talk and workshop to showcase ways by which crafts and technology could coexist, and serve as great tools to sustaining one another and crafting the future. The session will include a series of Talli & Safeefah weaving workshops, led by Irthi, using tablet technology.
