Moroccan pop star and producer Douzi has won a number of accolades for his music and performed around the world, Tunisian artist Nordo found fame thanks to his fusion of pop and hip-hop, French-Algerian singer Faudel is well known for his Raï musical style and performs in multiple languages, and popstar Mourtada's fresh take on Arabic pop is guaranteed to get audiences dancing.

For thousands of years, Angola’s Chokwe people have preserved their cultural wisdom through looping Sona drawings, in which special symbols are sketched into the sand and passed down through generations. The Angola Pavilion at Expo 2020 pays homage to this ancient tradition of knowledge sharing, connecting it with the nation’s emerging innovation industry.

With lush displays of Angolan flora, immersive exhibits and installations of modern and traditional art, the pavilion takes you on a Sona-inspired journey through contemporary Angola. Explore installations from contemporary Angolan artists, browse traditional Angolan crafts and more.

The Angola Pavilion architecture evokes both modernist design and the looping shapes of Angolan Sona sand drawings. It is anchored by a golden, geometric sunburst held aloft by a ring of tall, slim silver pillars.
