In celebraion of the International Organisation of la Francophonie Honour Day at Expo 2020 Dubai, watch Canadian singer Marie-Mai light up the Jubilee Stage. With four platinum-selling albums to her name, as well as multiple awards and accolades, Marie-Mai's career began when she qualified as a finalist on TV talent show Star Académie. She's since performed to audiences around the world and sung with a host of stars - including a virtual duet with the King of Rock'n'Roll himself, Elvis Presley.

For centuries, the indigenous Yanomami people of Venezuela’s Amazon rainforest have dwelled in grand, ring-like communal huts called shabonos. With its colourful shabono-inspired circular architecture and luminous central skylight, the Venezuela Pavilion brings the nation’s timeless collaborative spirit to Expo 2020. The pavilion’s exhibits focus on Venezuela’s greatest resources: its people and natural splendour. Explore the country’s rich folklore and craftsmanship, discover its incredible sand-to-snow ecological diversity and unwind with fresh coffee and chocolate at the pavilion’s restaurant and tasting room.

Bright and cheery, the Venezuela Pavilion is a large cube, decorated with white vertical slats that cover all four faces of the building. A second layer of shorter vertical slats form a wide, wave-like band across the middle of each wall, coloured in a shifting rainbow that represents the tones of Venezuelan nature as well as its national flag.

From its people to its sweeping terrain, Canada is a nation of astounding diversity. With its circular design based on the drum, an instrument found across all the world’s cultures, the Canada Pavilion at Expo 2020 celebrates the unity of its diverse inhabitants, as well as their bright shared future.

From outside, the pavilion impresses with its encircling wooden lattice, which evokes Canada’s natural landscapes while paying homage to the geometry of Islamic mashrabiya screens. But the wonder truly begins within, as an immersive theatre experience takes you on a stirring tour of Canada’s land, peoples and technological innovations.

The Canada Pavilion evokes the shape of a drum for its commanding, elegant Expo pavilion. Hundreds of pieces of Canadian lumber form a round lattice of diamond-like shapes that pays homage to the captivating geometry of Arabic mashrabiya screens. The massive disc seems to hover weightless over the pavilion’s central core, which is also decorated with wood.
