Al Rowah 'w' Al Nadbah is one of the most popular Emirati folk art group, native to the "Shihuh" - an arab tribe that inhabits mountains in Ras Al Khaimah and Diba Al Fujairah. Al Rowah drums are made of "Sidr" trees, their beats gradually increase during performance, where the men line up in a row and take steps on the rhythm as it gets louder. Al Nadbah consists of men chanting to a war cry of the mountain tribes.

Paying homage to the music of the UAE and surrounding region, local instruments fill the Jubilee stage with traditional Khaleeji sounds.

At Expo 2020, sustainability is an urgent, attainable reality, and Terra – The Sustainability Pavilion is the proof. Both immersive exhibition space and exemplar of environmental self-sufficiency, Terra is a pioneering piece of architecture that pushes the limits of renewable design.

The pavilion’s 130-metre-wide solar canopy – so vast that you could park 10 city buses head-to-tail atop it – converts sunshine into electricity for the exhibits below. Artfully funnelled natural light and local plant species, together with technologies that can reduce water consumption by 75 per cent, show the way to a sustainable future.

Sustainability is a crucial goal around the world today, but the people of Germany have lived by eco-friendly principles since the early 1700s. At Campus Germany, the country’s university-themed pavilion at Expo 2020, hundreds of hands-on educational experiences combine for an entertaining course in sustainability. Lectures and pop quizzes have no place on this campus, though. The pavilion’s lessons unfold on dynamic digital blackboards, inside giant selfie-friendly ball pits, and across “labs” that feature inventive explorations of our shared sustainable future. It’s all capped with a fun “graduation” ceremony in unique swinging seats.

The Germany Pavilion is a non-traditional structure consisting of several silver cubes stacked like blocks around an open central atrium. A massive shade structure, held up by a grid-like network of hundreds of thin pillars, hangs over the entirety of the main building. The pavilion and its landscaping have the open feeling of a modern university recreation hall area, surrounded by walkways, palm trees, and small gardens.
