The Cultural Heritage Game Jam
The competition phase of the Cultural Heritage Game Jam came to an exciting end on November 21, 2021, as 847 jammers from 72 countries vied to submit their games before the deadline. The four countries with the highest number of participants were Algeria, the United States, Morocco and Peru. In total, 115 games were developed around the theme of protecting and preserving cultural heritage. The subthemes asked the jammers to develop games that: Appreciate various cultural artworks, artefacts, traditions and places; Prevent looting, theft, trafficking and destruction of cultural heritage; Highlight the importance of protecting and preserving cultural heritage; Educate about the impact of climate change on cultural heritage.
