In partnership with the UAE's General Women's Union and UN Women, The League of Arab States celebrates pioneering Arab women with a Distinction Award, shedding light on the progressive and continuous role of women in selected fields and honouring their leadership achievements, experiences and creativity. This award ceremony coincides with the "League of Arab States Honour Day" celebrations at Expo 2020 Dubai.

The Distinction Award emanates from the strategic and effective role that Arab women play in the development of societies. Women leadership is pivotal for building modern, informative, technological and administrative economies, and enhancing civil societies and governmental institutions in various sectors.

In line with the Arab League's agenda; to produce generations of promising women and young girl leaders who are innovative, distinctive, and support national economies - this award of excellence is dedicated to Arab women to honour their high level achievements and celebrate thier contributions to the field of Medicine.

The Distinction Award for Arab Women is an annual event. It follows an open nomination mechanism; open to all women from the League of Arab States. Arbitration is neutral and depends on the criteria of achievement and excellence of each candidate in reaching the degree of distinction.
