The Majlis

In Arab culture, the majlis (or “sitting place”) is a symbol of hospitality and community. Inspired by the majlis, we wanted to create welcoming spaces to tell the stories of Expo and the UAE, and to offer moments of interaction and rest. In between pavilion visits, you will find these majlis structures throughout Expo, easily recognisable by their geometric motifs and woven-fabric façades.
