At an international level, in addition to persistent issues facing women, new challenges have emerged. The current pandemic has served as another reminder that women are extremely vulnerable and often disproportionately affected by emerging issues, and challenges posed in terms of women's rights require the strengthening of human rights.
In this discussion, prominent Moroccan NGOs working in defence of women's rights will discuss the progress, emerging challenges, and means to strengthen actions and initiatives aimed at promoting women's rights in Morocco, in partnership with the Morocco Pavilion and the National Human Rights Council (CNDH). This will present an opportunity to review ways to encourage full realisation of the parity and equality between men and women, strengthen women's political representation and encourage the adoption of transversal integration approaches to gender dimension in public policies, while also taking into account any economic and social issues.
